Hello 30!
Oh yes dear friends, this day is here at last. It’s my birthday! Today, I am 30!
I can hardly believe it. Well, that’s not exactly true. I’ve had a few moments of madness that lead to today. Thankfully, that craziness seems to have subsided and I am already feeling okay about being 30. After all – everyone says their 30s are their best years. They also say that a woman hits her sexual peak and her sex drive increases in her early 30s, so of course I’m curious to see how that plays out. Note to the next man I sleep with: you had better be prepared because I’m not exactly sure my sex drive could be higher than it already is…
Since today is such a momentous birthday I thought it would be appropriate to post these pictures:
Yep, that’s me as a newborn. I came into this world at 11:09pm, weighing 6 pounds, 4 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long. I was the smallest baby my mom would have (there’s four of us, I’m number three) and I was born with a full head of dark hair.
Already the well wishes from friends have begun, including this card from Aimee, which I find fantastically appropriate given that whole “women hit their sexual peak in their early thirties” statement I previously mentioned:
Already I feel like this day, this year, is going to be a good one. And really, how could it not? I’m surrounded by friends, I have plans all weekend long to celebrate, I’m going on vacation in Hawaii next week, I’m happy, I’m healthy. It’s going to be a good year. I just know it. So Goodbye 29, Hello 30!!!!
