Me & the Seven Dwarfs

I’m sick. And it sucks. Thankfully it’s not the fever-induced, bone-chilling flu, but it’s still one helluva head cold and it’s kicking my ass.

So it’s me and the seven dwarfs of sickness.

There’s Sneezy, Snotty (he’s the ringleader), Coughing and Stuffy-Head. There’s also Sadness & Heartache, but they’re conjoined twins so they only count as one – and really, they’re not exactly associated with being sick, but they’re hanging around right now so they get thrown in the mix. For good measure we can throw in Dopey (because my head is so cluttered I can barely think) and Grumpy (because sick people are never fun to be around).

It really sucks to be sick when you’re single. I’m sitting at home, curled up on my couch with my dog, watching episodes of Sex and the City, eating non-chicken noodle soup, my nose red and raw while an ever-growing pile of tissues gathers on the floor beside me, and there’s no Prince Charming on his way over to take care of me. Having just lost someone I was really falling for, I feel especially alone.

So there I am, middle of the afternoon on a cold, windy Tuesday, crying over the loss of him, and I’m sick. So basically I’m incredibly sexy at that moment because nothing is quite as attractive as alternating between tears and snot.

Oh we make a disgusting fucking fairytale, me and these dwarfs.

  1. I’m sorry you feel so awful. Get plenty of rest and load up on drugs:-)

  2. Aw! Hope you feel better soon!!! Sometimes we all need a good wallow on the couch with TV and comfort foods.

Maybe if you had the fake man (like Ellen’s) this wouldn’t be such a big deal. Just watch his hands,
I would hate for him to come on to you! :)
