The Karma of Friendship
I think half of the posts on this blog are about my friends. How amazing they are, how much I appreciate them, how they have been such a support to me, how they enrich my life. Really, I love them.
My friend Aimee is a relatively new friend. We met in yoga class when I noticed her felted bag. Squealing with delight I exclaimed, “You knit? You should join my friends and I at our next Stitch & Bitch!” Thus a friendship was born.
As we grew closer we learned we had a lot in common - some good, some not so good. We are both knitters, yoga devouts, and runners. We have an affliction for red wine and we both love a bargin. Oh, and we’re both separated and going through the stress of a divorce. Needless to say we have bonded and find we have a lot to talk about.
A few weeks back I wrote an article on My It Things about a necklace I liked. It’s called a Karma necklace and I was charmed by its simplicity and beauty. I thought it was a delicate reminder of one’s thoughts and actions, and I wanted it. But having just dumped a large amount of money into my house to get it ready to sell, I wasn’t going to purchase the necklace. I was just going to lust after it.
Aimee is a faithful reader of this blog and everything I write. She also is a faithful penpal, and we all know how I adore this. Well yesterday, the mail brought a card from Aimee. Enclosed in that card was the Karma necklace and a note reminding me that I’ll get through the blue days, that I have friends to support me, and that it’s all gonna be okay.
Thank you my dear friend. You made my day. I hope you receive as much support from my friendship as I do from yours. I think this means we’re fulfilling the karmic circle. Let’s hope so.

I think we are. I’m having one of those days but just reading your comments and knowing how much you appreciated the necklace made my day. I can’t wait to see it on you. I love mine. It’s so simple, delicate and inspirational.
Oooohhh! I *heart* this necklace! It’s beautiful… thank you for sharing it with us, and what a wonderful friend Aimee is!!! *HUGs* to her, too! I can’t wait to see it; you shall have to show it to me! Maybe I’ll get myself one!
So simple…
